Craft Keeper

This is made from a placemat, ribbons and zip-loc bags.  I think it is so cute.

A friend of mine showed me one she found and she was planning on using it for quilting supplies.  I thought I could use it for crafting supplies.

I started thinking about all the uses for this.  You could use it for traveling (toothpaste, lotions, etc. - if spilled wouldn't get all over your clothes).

You could use it for jewelry (to organize and/or travel).

What kinds of uses can you come up with?

Beach Bag

I made this beach bag for my SIL's birthday. I embroidered 'Surf's Up' in red on some navy & white gingham fabric (thought it looked a little nautical) and sewed it on the front (top stitching it with red thread - doesn't show up in the picture). You could use it as a beach bag, pool bag or any other large tote.

My favorite thing about it, is that it is mesh and should allow most of the sand to filter out before getting into your vehicle or house.

Now I want me one (tutorial here - great excuse to make one for me, right?).

There are lot's of great phrases you could use on it, but I can only think of a few so help me out...
Surf's Up
Beach Bag/Beach Gear
Catch the Wave
Pool Bag/Pool Gear
...can you think of more?

Previous MOPS Creative Activity

I have been wanting to blog on this for awhile, but I kept forgetting. Our MOPS Creative Activies person was fantastic. She had lots of great ideas, but I have this particular fondness for totes so I really liked this CA (creative activity). (I have some kind of tote fettish. I love tote bags, I absolutely love totes!!!!!!!)

So the one pictured above is the one I made. Yes, we all made one at our MOPS meeting. So you want to know the secret? It's a 'No Sew Tote'. Of course you can't use it for anything like a library/book bag (or for anything heavy), but it's a great all around tote. I have been using it to carry the snacks in for my Sunday morning class. Our CA person got the idea here.

So those of you that don't sew, even you can make this. If you sew and want to sew it (to make it sturdier), go right ahead. But it is a great, quick project (even if you do sew, try it out).
